Teenage Boys: Why They are Becoming an Endangered Species

-This training focuses on the current issues that young males are faced with in today's rapidly changing and uncertain world. There will be an in-depth look at boyhood depression, its manifestation, symptoms, and how they differ from those of teenage girls. The effects of the media on young males will be addressed, primarily violence, premature sexualization, body image and gender-caging. Lastly, we will look at the issue of emotional disconnection in our society, its effect of teen development, as well as tools and strategies for professionals to help assess and meet the needs of these boys and young men.



Good-bye to Girlhood

-This workshop will explore how the media is affecting today's girls and young women, specifically in the areas of premature sexualization and hyper-feminization. We will address the issues of sex, violence, and sexual violence, the media and substance abuse, as well as the friends with benefits epidemic and its relationship to emotional disconnection.
